Obituary of Daneesha C. Lay

Obituary Daneesha Cecilia Lay, was born on July 1, 1971 to Cecil H Lay & the late Conchita Tomaw in New Rochelle, NY & attended Blessed Sacrament High School and continued her education at Berkeley College where she studied Fashion Marketing and Design. She departed this life on October 28, 2016 at the tender age of 45 in her home in Brooklyn, NY. She is survived by her father, Cecil H Lay & step father, Henry Giraud. Brothers and sisters: Pierre, Conchita, Dave, Yvette, Ken, Cecilia, Charmion, Ducas, Kahler, Manley, Kimberly, Denise, Tonya, Shervon, Kevin, Dudley, Dolores, Jovani, Norman, Vidal, Cheryl, Jackie, Avril, Ashley and a host of aunts, uncles & cousins. Daneesha had a very giving spirit and had a heart of gold. Her personality was infectious- her smile, her laugh, her passion, her positivity- she left a lasting impression on everyone with whom she came into contact. Danee would always make the best of any situation and smiled through it all: she never wavered. Even as kids, growing up in New Rochelle and Brooklyn everyone knew and loved Danee for her soft heart and caring personality. Danee recently compared her life to a butterfly and everyone would have to agree that she was a beautiful free spirit just like a butterfly. Butterflies can’t see their wings. They can’t see how truly beautiful they are, but everyone else can. She loved her music and her art; but most of all, she loved her family, her friends and her dogs. Daneesha will be missed, but her spirit will forever live on through the lives of everyone she touched.
