Obituary of Ellen Richter

Ellen Richter, of Ridgewood, Queens, age 81, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2021. Ellen was born on July 30, 1940 in Lubeck, Germany, to Anni and Gerhard Hielscher. In January 1959 aboard the Bremen, she emigrated to the United States, where in 1961 she married John Richter (deceased) and they settled in Ridgewood. Ellen lived a full and active life up until her demise, and enjoyed working as a Teller at Ridgewood Savings Bank where she was known as a dedicated worker, admired and appreciated by both her colleagues and customers. A devout churchgoer, Ellen was always ready and willing to support and assist St. Mark’s Church and its congregation. Ellen is survived by her son Thomas, daughter-in-law Carla, her stepson John, her grandsons, Eric and Daniel, along with several nieces and nephews. A caring mother and loving grandmother to her cherished grandsons, her family was her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Rest in Peace, Ellen.
