Obituary of Beatriz Ivelisse Mateo

Beatriz Ivelisse Mateo, age 61, joined her fellow angels in heaven on December 7, 2021. Born January 18, 1960 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic she emigrated to New York City in 1981. A lover of politics and math, she graduated with a degree in Economics from Queens College. She stayed involved in social causes and charities all her life. Diagnosed with Stage IV Peritoneal Cancer in December 2019, she spent 2 years battling and enjoying life to the fullest. A fighter until the end, she knew when it was time to let go and found peace in saying her goodbyes. She was surrounded by loved ones at home at the time of her passing. Beatriz is survived by her 3 children who meant the world to her, Sasha, Nicole, and James, in addition to her mother and father Josefa and Colonel Leonidas and her siblings Leonidas, Edgardo, Jeannette, and Maritza, along with her nieces and nephews that she cherished dearly. A bright light of joy, she is sincerely missed by her family and friends and will always be remembered for her smile and red lipstick. May she find peace and eternal life forever. Beatriz Ivelisse Mateo will live on in the hearts of all those that loved her and she loved in return. Keep shining down on us sweet angel above.
