Obituary of Clara Lombardo
Clara Lombardo our beloved “Mama” and “Nonni”
Mother, Grandmother,
Great Grandmother, Aunt and Amazing strong woman
On Feb 10, 2022, My Mother, Clara Lombardo, peacefully left us to rest with her loved ones and angels in heaven. She dedicated her life taking special care of our family. She was born in Ischia, Italy in 1928 and married my Father Philip there in 1957. They returned to Brooklyn, my Father’s hometown, to begin their life together. They raised three children, my Brother John, my Sister Gina and myself (Gabby). We had a wonderful family life together. Beautiful holidays and special times.
Sadly In 1979, my Father passed away, and she became a widow at age 50. As she dealt with her grief, she quickly became a strong, independent woman. Learning new things and taking charge of her household. Driving, handling finances, buying our family home, doing home repairs, and dealing with so many issues, all on her own and on her own terms. Going on to then raise her Grandchildren Philip and Clara and her Great Granddaughter Brianna - All with unconditional love. She also truly loved her son John’s children Johnny and Danielle, my beautiful son Joseph and my wonderful Husband Andrew.
As all Italian mothers take pride in, her true joy was preparing delicious meals for our family &
and friends. She was known for her famous lasagna, her ponzarottes and her struffoli.
Making huge trays for all to enjoy, and we sure did!
Through many ups and downs over the years, she remained strong and lived a long life. Our family suffered a great loss this past year, with the passing of my two siblings. Sadly mom’s health then declined rapidly. She was ready to join her Husband, Children, and her Sister Lina in heaven.
“Mama” “Nonni” your pure love lives on, forever in our hearts. Thank you for dedicating your life and your unconditional love to make ours better. We will painfully miss you every day,
but we take comfort in knowing you are now peacefully in heaven together with our loved ones…
Rest In Peace, our Angel….
